Go Green

We have decided to make some changes around out house. The first one is that we are joining a Community Supported Agriculture model with Terry Berries. It is the local farm that Peter went on a field trip last fall. We decided to go with the Basic Summer Share. This is what it reads:
Basic Summer Share: The Basic Summer Share includes a seasonal selection of fresh, washed organic produce harvested only hours before you pick up at the farm -- next best thing to growing it yourself! This includes over 70 varieties of vegetables, berries and apples that we grow on our farm. It will also include some vegetables and fruits from Alvarez Farms of Mabton, WA where they can grow the crops that require lots of heat, such as red and yellow sweet peppers, eggplant, as well as very hot peppers, and melons. The Basic Share should meet the needs of a household with 2 adults and 2 children. If your household needs less, consider sharing the weekly share with another family. Each week you will receive 9-14 items, including pick your own herbs such as basil, parsley, chives and cilantro. Enjoy 21 weeks of awesome, fresh, tasty produce beginning in early June. The best investment of the year we say!
We are really excited by this idea and can't wait for June to come when it starts. Another thing that we are thinking of composting. We are not sure if we just want a composter or worm bins. We are just starting the research about it.
Today is National Scrapbook Day so I scrapped about it.
