I have been super excited that Eric Carle had an exhibit here at the Tacoma Art Museum. If you don't know who Eric Carle is the author of The Hungry Caterpillar; Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?; and many other wonderful stories. As a Kindergarten teacher, I use many of his books. Plus his art is so beautiful. He paints tissue paper and cuts it out and layers it to make his pictures.
So, back to the exhibit. Peter is in love with art. He loves to draw and is constantly doing it.
Peter's drawing of a horse.
The morning that we decided to go, we headed to downtown Tacoma. Parking is free on Sundays so we were happy that we got there early to even get parking. We decided to go for a walk around the downtown area.
Let us in please.
We tried our hand at some Eric Carle art. We still need to finish the piece and they are so excited that it will be displayed in our house.
Peter was tinkering with the model trying to figure out how to draw the model. I think Peter could have spent the whole day in that room.
Come to find out, the exhibit is only showing at the Tacoma Museum of Art. No where else.
